Have you ever used an old manual typewriter? If you were around before the computer age took hold, you probably know what I am talking about. Well, the font for the Doodletype Cricut cartridge reminds me of the print from these old style typewriters - come to think of it, it even has a die cut shape of one! If you can't remember back that far, or if you weren't around then, check out the Courier font in your favorite word processing program - it's very similar.

I really like the Doodletype cartridge, perhaps because of the tinge of nostalgia I feel every time I see it. My mom had one of those old style manual typewriters when I was just a preschooler. Sometimes (probably when she needed to keep me out of her hair) she would slip a piece of paper in her old typewriter and let me bang away at the keys, at least until they would get all jammed up together. It's one of my favorite memories, which may explain why this is one of my favorite cartridges...
