Recently, someone e-mailed me with a question asking about the best methods for adhering their die cuts to their projects. There are a lot of different Cricut adhesive options, and quite honestly, I use several different methods for getting the job done.
Following are four of my favorite methods...
Zots Adhesive Dots: Zots are acid free double-sided clear adhesive glue dots by Therm O Web that provide for an instant bond. The standard Zots are paper thin, but they are also available in a 3-D version (fun for when you want to make your die cuts stand out a little!). Zots come in a variety of sizes, and you can buy them either in a pack of singles or on a roll.
Clear Adhesive Runners: Adhesive runners come in a variety of sizes and are made by several different manufacturers (Xyron and Scotch, for example). Many are acid-free and permanent. They are very easy to work with, and they are refillable. To use, hold the runner cartridge (usually at a 45 degree angle) to the surface. Press the runner's tip onto the item. Apply light pressure and slowly run adhesive across the surface.
Zig 2 Way Glue Pens: Zig 2 Way Glue Pens are another great Cricut adhesive option, especially for finely detailed pieces. They are acid-free and are available in a variety of tips (my favorite for detailed pieces is the ballpoint tip).
Xyron Sticker Machines: I could not complete this post without mentioning the Xyron sticker machines. There are several different models, and I could probably spend several hours talking about each, but to make a long story short, the Xyron machines are another great option for quickly and easily applying a non-toxic, acid free adhesive to the back of your Cricut die cuts.
